Splendid, Exciting and Excruciating. Yes, excruciating or intense pain because, at the very first line of the book, it brought back some feelings that don’t mean to be felt. However, as painful as it is. Readers like me who will never move on from the first installment will remember the yesterday. Okay, Rafael. Breathe. Inhale. Exhale. Just going to fix myself first.
So, I wanted to talk about Pintip Dunn’s book covers first. Who wouldn’t get attracted to those amazing, colorful, and captivating book covers? I was like. I do love beautiful book covers because it was just covergasm. But didn’t expect that this book is stunning as it’s story.
What made me hooked with Pintip Dunn’s books is because her writing style is good that I easily inclined with the story and be there to feel and imagine what was happening. The tone that she use with is kind of soothing and makes me want to listen to the words but in reality, I was reading the book. It is a fantastic ability. Writing a good book while giving us an exemplary plot and what’s more? A beautiful cover art.
The story set foot with Jessa. I don’t want to spoil anything for you because this book is really good and I think one of the best Young Adult Science-Fiction series that I really found. But, I tell you. I struggle with her. Not in a bad way. Look, try to place yourself in someone who has lost someone in the past and tries to fight and keep on moving forward but keeps on being haunted by her own thoughts? It’s kind of painful. At least, for me, that’s my interpretation.
However, what makes this book more interesting is because there are another two guys who would like a heart to embrace with! I don’t know which one should I root for: the guy who is always there on her side or the other guy who making himself the antagonist? It’s kind of hard because both of them have qualities that I think the protagonist Jessa would love. If you are curious, see it for yourself. Teasing here.
Apparently, Jessa is one of the protagonists that I came to love. She is caring, beautiful inside and out, extraordinary, extremely brave and intelligent all at once. It feels like I am reading a book that the story wishes to create for herself. She has fears but those fears are justifiable. What made me really fell in love with Pintip’s book is that the most common focus of her story is always set for the love of family which I really adore. And it has captured my heart.
Remember Yesterday is something you will love through and through. A fast-paced novel that you want to set foot and live with (or not? hahaha). You will like the revelations, you will love the chemistry, you will mourn and above all, you will be contented (or not? I want more.) It will give you a total destruction of choosing and making decisions. It will challenge your mind and predict what will happen next. It’s just amazing that Pintip could write a book this good. I’m really looking forward to more. Cheers!
MY RATINGS: 4.5 STARS!
